I still have no idea how I am able to get myself in this situation. It happened when I was getting ready to leave a Starbucks branch near my school with my bag slung over my shoulder, stuffed with my sketchbook, art supplies and in hand was my everyday Caramel Macchiato when suddenly, immediately when I stepped out, I was pulled by a man to his side.

Blinding flashes from cameras met my eyes. I wasn’t able to process everything so quickly. I wasn’t able to see the face of the person who just grabbed me when his lips suddenly met mine. More flashing lights appeared at the corner of my eye. I could hear someone screaming out a name, probably his but I couldn’t make it out due to everybody screaming different phrases at our direction.

When he pulled away, I realized that hordes of paparazzi people were the ones taking my picture – well, our picture, once I figure out who just gave me the best kiss ever.

The President’s son just fucking kissed me.

Before I could even open my mouth to speak, he pushed me through the paparazzi and his bodyguards to get into a black car that looked like it goes through a waxing process everyday. So anyway, a usual first instinct right away after being kissed by a total stranger is to push him away and then slap him across the face or maybe even scream. But no, I wasn’t able to. Everything went in a blur. I didn’t have time to react. But now since the two of us are all alone in the backseat, I wanted some answers NOW.

“Look,” he begins, “I’m really sorry for what happened back there.”

I raise an eyebrow at him. Um, sorry pal, sorry is not going to cut it. “That doesn’t really answer any of the questions I have in my head right now,” I pause, “Um, sir,”

“Alright, alright,” he sighs and rubs his temples, “Let me explain it to you: I just broke up with my girlfriend a couple of weeks ago. I moved on and now I’m over her, but apparently, she still hasn’t. She has been chasing me and trying to get a hold of me ever since. Apparently, we wound up in the same restaurant. Long story short, we ended up “arguing” out in the middle of the sidewalks and the paparazzi followed us all the way. I couldn’t tell security to back her off since I don’t really want to do that even though I deeply do, it would be bad for my image. I needed an excuse so she could stop bugging me. The first I could think of is that I found someone else now, a new girlfriend. She insisted where this new girlfriend of mine was and before I could answer, you stepped right out of Starbucks and that’s when I,” he gave a deep breath, “…kissed you.”

I could only pathetically nod, letting the words sink in and what could happened to me.

“I’m surprised you didn’t push me away or something, but I am glad you didn’t or else I would be caught with the biggest lie I could ever possibly tell and in front of the paparazzi.”

I nod again. “So, what do you want to happen now?”

He looks away from me, feeling a bit uncomfortable. “Um, I know this is going to sound like an odd request, especially coming from me, but…I was wondering if you could uh…be my girlfriend for the next couple of weeks…or maybe months, until I – ”

“Until you find someone else more worth your time,” I continue for him, “And when you find this person, you break up with me and then I run away crying while calling you the biggest bastard I’ve ever been with in my life,” his eyes grew wide when I indirectly called him a bastard, “and never to see you again…ever. Yep, I gotcha,”

His face changes into a surprised look complete with the jaw drop. “Well, I didn’t really imagine it would be that harsh but that should work fine, I guess.”

I space out a couple of minutes before realizing that I didn’t know where the car is taking me. “Uh, where are we going?”

“Back to the White House,”

I’m going to the White House and chances are I’m going to meet the President of the United States of America and his wife, the First lady.

This is not good.

He must have noticed my sudden nervousness. “Hey, relax; nothing bad is going to happen to you,”

“Yeah, besides meeting your parents who happen to be the President and the First Lady of this country,”

“They’re not that bad, really.” He tries to assure me, “Oh, yeah. Um, I don’t think I’ve gotten your name yet.”

“Oh, it’s Allyson, but I usually go by Ally, Ally Merteuil.”

He holds out his hand for me to shake. “Pleased to meet you, Ally. I’m Brendon Urie,”
